“Welcome, welcome to another year at Hogwarts!” [I mean… Cupertino!] “Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
This newsletter is fully dedicated to Apple because today is Apple Event!!!
Another year, another Apple Event! The hype is real as always! It feels like Christmas today, and we have a couple of things to say before the event begins.
Follow the Apple Event with me
Today is the day. After months and months of rumors, today we can see the official confirmation of the iPhone 13 in the keynote ‘California Streaming’ that will be broadcast from 7:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time), 10 a.m. PDT. We are also expected to see the presentation of the Apple Watch Series 7 and AirPods 3, and there can always be room for the odd surprise.
I am offering you, for the first time, a live stream from Twitch. I will broadcast my impressions and comments live on the channel’s set starting at 6:30 p.m. (Spain), 9:30 a.m. PDT. Follow that channel, because from now on it is where you will be able to see ‘The Edition by JuanSC’ every week!
You do not want to see video or the event catches you away from home? No problem. You can go to my Twitter account from where I will tweet just the most important data.

Every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time), 10 a.m. PDT, we will be live … and I hope to meet all of you who can join me there! If it is more convenient for you to listen to it in podcast format, every Thursday you will have the corresponding episode in the newsletter feed and other platforms.
New Updates a few hours before the event: iOS 14.8, iPadOS 14.8, watchOS 7.6.2, and macOS Big Sur 11.6
We did not expect it! Apple has released iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8, two updates that focus on applying security patches to both versions of the operating systems. We are probably facing the latest updates before the imminent arrival of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.
What may be the latest macOS Big Sur update, 11.6, has also appeared, also focused on security patches. watchOS 7.6.2 closes the batch of new versions. Apparently, Apple has resolved a vulnerability that allowed hidden code to be executed in a purposely created PDF or web page with malicious intent.

We Already Have a Date for The Fall Apple Event
Today is the event. We hope to see the new iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, and AirPods 3. The rest of the news, such as the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, the iPad mini, and the iPad for education, should wait for an upcoming event. But when? The back-to-school promotion gives us some important clues.
As stated in MacRumors, the end of the back-to-school promotion, for which Apple offers some AirPods with the purchase of a product for education, is closely linked to the October event. On September 15 of last year, Apple extended the promotion to end on October 12. A movement that did not attract attention at the time, but which later made sense when an event was announced for October 13.

Today is #AppleEvent!
Tic tac, tic tac, tic tac…
Btw, have you seen what happens when you smash the heart button!? 😏
In Europe, the back-to-school promotion ends on Monday, October 11, an interesting coincidence that may lead us to deduct an event for Tuesday, October 12. The truth is that, in general, the October events have been held somewhat later, but it is also true that with the structure of virtual keynotes, the timings are changing.
Apple has held three events in the month of October in the last 5 years: Thursday 27 in 2016, Tuesday 30 in 2018, and Tuesday 13 in 2020. With this, treating them again as a virtual keynote, on Tuesday 12 in 2021 fits perfectly.
For now, these dates are conjectures supported by the fact that we hope to see again a correspondence between the end of the back-to-school promotion and the event to present new products. Also keep in mind that we do not know if Apple will hold two or three events this fall, something that could also affect the dates.
And that’s it for now guys! See you tonight! Stay tuned!
Be safe! And enjoy the Apple Event!
