Everything you always wanted to know about the health care system. But were afraid to ask.

Matthew Holt, Founder of The Health Care Blog (THCB) here. It’s been a long while since THCB sent out our THCB Reader email. You’re getting this because you’ve been one of the many thousands on THCB’s mailing list or you met me at Health 2.0 or some other conference and have given me a card over the years. I probably promised you then we’d get you on the THCB list so here you are! (And yes, yes, if you must you can unsubscribe at the bottom….)
THCB History & Present. You may not know that THCB is one of the oldest health care blogs on the web. We have been around for 15 years, launching back in ’03 and we’ve been chugging along ever since. Although the blog started just with articles from little ol’ me, for over a decade THCB has been publishing intelligent opinionated pieces by dozens of contributors including Saurabh Jha, Lygeia Riccardi, Anish Koka, Niran Al-Agba, Kip Sullivan, Jeff Goldsmith, Michael Millenson, the late Uwe Reinhardt, as well as yours truly, and many, many more great names. We are read daily by 2,000 to 3,000 health care industry observers & decision makers, clinicians, and health policy experts.
The near future! We are not only starting up the THCB Reader (again!–it went dark about 2 years ago) but we will also officially be launching a new website for THCB in just a few short weeks.
Content. THCB will feature 4 different categories: Health Technology; Health Care Policy; the Business of Health Care; and Medical Practice. We also have some exciting new media features including video content (you may have seen “Health in 2 Point 00” or Jess Da Massa’s “WTF Health” interview series) and a new podcast series called Hardcore Health. We promise you something for everyone across the spectrum of health care.
Business. Ok, so now this is great n’all, but we need some $$$ to support THCB. We haven’t really marketed the blog as an advertising vehicle for a long while, but we are formally launching advertising and sponsorship sales on THCB once again. If you want to reach and influence 80-100,000 of the most sophisticated people in health care each month, then click here to take a look at our new prospectus. Want your name in lights? Last, but certainly not least, we want you to write!
