ICU Worlds recap
51 countries participated in the 2022 ICU Worlds, and there was some incredible cheerleading.
Team Finland All-Girl Premier won gold once again with a jaw-dropping routine, and USA took home the Coed Premier division.
Among the junior divisions were champions like England, Czech Republic, and two gold medals from the USA.
Worlds recap & last day info
A LOT has happened at Worlds and the competition isn’t over yet! Here are only some moments from the competition:
  • After their performance, Woodlands Elite G.I. Janes were disqualified due to a missing form for one of their athletes (you can read their statement here). Despite this, they later showed up to support their competitors!
  • MACs Cheer Senior Starz won the Small Coed division, which has been won by 3 teams for many years (Cali Smoed, Brandon Senior Black & Prodigy Midnight).
  • Yesterday, the fire alarm went off during awards and everyone was evacuated. This led to some hilarious conspiracy theories on Twitter, like these ones.
Other notable medals so far include:
  • Spirit of Texas Royalty took home the Medium Coed 6 division.
  • CJA Bombshells went back to back in the Senior Open level 6 division.
  • CheerForce Nfinity also went back to back but in the International Open Small Coed 7 division.
  • CheerSport Great White Sharks won after not being able to compete at Worlds since 2019!
  • Smoed has once again won, but this time in the Global Coed level 6 division.
  • Viqueens Spirit from Norway placed second in the International Open level 7 division (less than 1 point from winning)!
➡️ Smoed also leads the way with the highest score of the entire competition so far!
