Goodbye Cali Coed & Blackjacks?
We’re starting this newsletter with some sad news for Cali fans (isn’t that all of us by the way..?)
It looks like two absolutely iconic California All Stars teams, Cali Coed and Blackjacks will not exist this season 😥
Both teams are part of cheer history and have made huge impacts in the industry. Blackjacks are one of the most winning teams in history, with 10x NCA wins and 7x Summit wins - in a row!
Cali Coed has been around for what feels like forever, and brought many memorable and now iconic moments. From the double cupies in every routine, the boy baskets in 2016, the recent themed routines… Just so much to remember!
The "Cheer Live" tour has started
In case you have missed it, athletes from the Netflix docuseries “Cheer” (we bet you haven’t missed that one) are part of the “CHEER Live” tour.
The tour has now started and they will be performing around the U.S. all summer.
Here’s a clip from the show (try counting how many baskets they throw):
Possible delays with Varsity uniform orders
Varsity has informed customers about possible delays with uniform orders.
This seems to be due to general global delays, season delays because of Covid, and the new full top uniform rule (which you can read about here).
So if you’re thinking of ordering new uniforms, you might want to hurry!
Nfinity "Generation next" goes to the UK!
Infinity announced that they will launch their “Generation Next” program in the UK!
Here’s what “Generation Next” is:
“These young athletes are Legends in the making! We pick the top 50 cheerleaders from around the world (…) who show elite level skills for their age. Those who are chosen attend a week long camp alongside some of the top coaches in the industry.”
They have previously expanded the program to Australia & New Zealand - and now the United Kingdom.
50 athletes, ages 15 and under, will be invited to a camp in August this year. Know anyone who should apply? Read more here!
💭 What other places would you like to see the program expand to? Which cheerleading countries/locations do you think are underrated? Reply & let us know!
