Hi, testers 👋 Everyone is talking about “ Among Us” this week, the indie game that fortunately have a beta version. But if you are not testing games, there are 5 new stories from TestingCatalog and 18 stories from other resources down below. All about new apps and features. So, what’s new?
Several things to highlight,
- ☎️ TestingCatalog got invited to Telepath, a new social network in early beta.
- 🎨 Facebook messenger got redesigned and its icon now matches Instagram colours.
- 🎮 Google Play Points program is now available to more users.
- 💎 3 top Android apps that you can beta test this week.
This app is invite-only at this moment and it looks very similar to any other social app. BUT! It aims to have much better moderation plus its content disappears there after 30 days. Well, a full review can be found in TestingCatalog’s post. The unfortunate part is that it is unlikely will be out for Android very soon as they are still hiring Android devs.
Apart from the UI redesign, Facebook is taking actions towards combining its Messenger app with Instagram DMs. If you own a business profile, you may have already tried Business Suite app where you can reply to both sources from the same app. It is not yet the case with Messenger but it’s getting closer after every update.
Play Points program is an incentive feature inside Google Play that also brings additional gamification to the app. This feature is still limited to several countries but last week it became available to more people in these regions.
To continue on “Google” topic, if you are Practicing Google apps, tools or anything else, you must take a look at this newsletter that is made by one of TestingCatalog’s testers 📩
Weekly practical resources on Google products and related tech. Links to tips, tutorials, apps, and other resources that will expand your Google toolbox and help you do more.
By the way, I am planning to check some Premium / PRO apps to see if they worth their money. Would you like to read about something like this? I am thinking between YouTube Premium, Feedly PRO, Headspace PRO, Grammarly Premium, Amazon Photos Prime or maybe something else? I really really really need your input here so any replies to this email are welcome! Cya 👋
