Shout out to Humza Bhatti and Greg Bussman for buying me coffees this week! ☕️ Thank you!
Humza runs Growth at Tempo - an email client that helps you focus. My favorite features? The ability to batch process emails at set times during the day and save emails as to-dos.
Greg is on a journey to become a better marketer and has created a weekly newsletter featuring inspiring and mind-blowing marketing ideas.
I keep hearing about this concept of a weekly review - or taking a few minutes at the end of the week to think about:
  • What worked well
  • What didn’t work well
  • How I can adapt for next week
Do any of you do one? There is more information on this here (thanks, Brandy!) and here. I think this can be as simple or detailed as you need it to be for your purposes.
If I had to do it for this past week, here is what mine would look like:
What worked well
👩🏾‍🎓Learning & Development time on Mondays. Starting Monday morning, focusing on growth and improving myself was fantastic. I used the time to listen to LEAD. Well’s Leader Retreat and did some Q3 planning.
💃🏾Dancing. I was able to take a BeMoved dance class this week, and after not doing it for a year, I felt incredible. I was a bit worried about how my ankle would hold out, but amazingly, it did. (Albeit very achy afterward.) Looking forward to doing that more and practicing for the Fear Experiment show in the coming weeks.
What didn’t work well
💤Sleeping. I did not get quality sleep this week, so I felt like it had a ripple effect on my productivity. And then I started worrying about not showing up correctly and letting folks down. I am taking a cue from Indistractable (thanks for the recommendation, Christine) and understanding that sleep is not an outcome I can control. Instead, I need to focus on the inputs that I can control, including exercise, self-care, and even finding new ways to wind down.
How I can adapt for next week
🗓 I loved my Learning & Development session, so I think I will continue that on Mondays. I wonder if I should use some of the time for writing/creating. So that’s something to consider. 🤔
In terms of sleep, I will think about this mantra from Indistractable:
“The body gets what the body needs.”
Do you do weekly reviews? Do you have a favorite process or questions to answer?
On to the picks!
P.S. Love tacos? You might want to apply for this.

  • 📺. Watching: Playing with Time. This guy is bending time in this video, and it’s mesmerizing to watch. Trust me - it’s a cool 90 seconds. ⏱
  • 🎧. Listening: Pop Piano Covers. You know I love my songs with lyrics (have you heard my Side Hustla! playlist). But when I need to focus and not listen to words, these are great. Some songs I can still sing in my head, though. 😉
  • 💰. Tool: Trim.  Sometimes I forget that I signed up for this free service, but they’ll text me and say they are negotiating a phone or cable bill for me every once in a while. This week, I got a $40 credit on my Xfinity account. If you need someone to negotiate to lower your bills or get you a credit, they are great! They charge 25% of whatever they can save for you.
