Will computers win in the investing game? Or, will humans win out, given the fact that we created the algos? The answer, like so many things in life, is that both are probably right. 
The symbiosis of computers that invest and the humans that program them isn’t dissimilar to the same dynamic playing out in fintech. The tension between incumbent financial institutions and startups trying to disrupt them is a good one. It puts creative pressure on larger FIs that find it harder to innovate competitively given their size. 
But ultimately, it will the combination of startup (newbies) and standingup (incumbents) that effects the biggest change in the market as incumbents, who own the customers, partner up with the new guys on the block, who offer what today’s customers desire.
