Connecting the dots this week in finance land and we see a few things happening: Goldman is making (another) move in online finance with an acquisition while the upstarts are looking more seriously into getting their own banking licenses. Mega banks in the US continue to get bigger while financial content companies are launching their own investment management businesses.
Best story of the week has to be, hands down, the attempted looting of the Fed Reserve Bank of New York by hackers using Bangledeshi SWIFT codes and wiring the money to Filipino casinos. I can’t wait for the move version.
