They are 🔥

Super comfy chairs, great customer service, free candy…
The experience is so pleasant that I often find myself opening new bank accounts just so that I can chill in the bank branch for a little bit 😎

The online presence of banks, however, are a completely different story.
Banking Landing Pages are… how do I put this subtly?
God 👏 Awful 👏
Take a credit card landing page 💳 as an example. They hit every single checkbox for terrible user experience:

  1. A staid visual aesthetic? ✔ (but I guess this is legally required)
  2. Pages of jargon-y text (what the hell does APR mean)? ✔
  3. Cramped mobile experience? ✔
  4. Pages and pages of ugly forms? ✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔ (that’s one check per form field)
The disparity between in-branch and online experiences is so egregious that we couldn’t sit by idly and watch on as millions of digital marketing prospects were subject to terrible UX 😤
Here’s what we found:
