If you match with someone on Tinder, do NOT ask them what their Cost Per Lead (CPL) is! It results in quizzical responses, no responses and worst of all the eternal shame of having a stranger laughing at you over text message.

We found out the hard way. Over the past few weeks, we have been so focused on improving conversion rates and dropping CPLs that every time we match with someone, muscle memory kicks in and our fingers type out “What is your CPL?”.
Where the CPL question does work, however, is when we talk to our wonderful bot makers! And let’s be real, I’d much rather talk to you guys than a random person who doesn’t value a good CPL.
