Ok that subject line is a little misleading. We didn’t buy a house, Vinit from the Tars tech team did. And as with all things that Vinit does, the whole process was a little weird.
Here’s what happened👇

We arrive at Vinit’s new house for his housewarming party to find that his “house” is more of a eerie colonial mansion with self-opening gates, a weird fountain and a near constant shroud of mist.
Then, after a 3 hr 17 minute long speech about the ethics of kelp farming, we find out that Vinit’s idea of a house WARMING is perhaps a smidge too literal.
It turns out that outside of his life at Tars, Vinit runs an insurance fraud side hustle in which he burns down mansions to fund his predilection for esoteric Halloween costumes.
The whole experience was quite enriching! I mean, sure, we ended up losing our head of development (a slight snag in our daily operations), BUT we also learned a lot about the home insurance marketing and we ended up conducting a pretty sick teardown of GEICO’s landing page which you can check out below👇
