The other day I was chilling on a random rooftop in the middle of San Francisco, when I ran into my good friend Mark.

Now usually when I meet Mark, he greets me with a warm smile that melts my heart.
This time, however, Mark sat down next to me looking frazzled. It turns out that his little internet startup was facing some serious issues.
Other than the fact that his company’s lax data privacy protocols had allowed the data of 87 million to be misused in unethical psychological experiments, it turned out his developer conference was lacking a serious headlining act.
Now having been Mark’s closest confidant for a while, I decided to do him a solid and told him that we would lend TARS’ star power to save the day.
I called Vinit, from the TARS tech team (who to this day is still wearing his god awful cowboy boots #WestWorld), and within a couple of hours, this is what we came up with.

What is FB Pixel?
FB Pixel is a developer product created by Facebook. You install it onto your site (or in this case, your bot) and it helps you track conversions from Facebook ads, optimise ads based on collected data, build targeted audiences and retarget for future ads.
How can you use FB pixel in your TARS chatbot?
Why is this important?
Data is always good. It allows you to see who is coming to your chatbot, and run targeted Facebook campaigns to bring them back to your site/bot if they drop off. Basically, it means more potential customers and more money for you.
