Below – the impacts of digital transformation are being felt far and wide, but it is important to remember that one of the key disruptions will be in the design and delivery of new products to market. The product managers will undoubtedly take the brunt of this shift. Their role will be hugely important, but massively redefined. The depth of the changes are highlighted in a very interesting recent paper from McKinsey that positions a product manager as “a mini-CEO of the product”. Three archetypes of the new digital product manager are reviewed: technologists, generalists, and business specialists. The article offers much food for thought:
