An eclectic mix this week….because that’s just the way we are….

This article, below, is an interesting snapshot of the current chaos and confusion with respect to the impact of the digital economy on jobs. One theme is the kind of protectionist approach favoured by Trump and others, and to some extent the background to Brexit, where free trade and labour movement is blocked, the markets are artificially manipulated through import tariffs, tax incentives are created to keep jobs in one location or another, and political arm-twisting is rife. Much more of this to come as new technologies and business models continue to disrupt and the world struggles to adjust….
Add to this some of the turbulence in big companies such as IBM….and we’re in for interesting times….
