First of all, I wish you a healthy and amazing 2022! 🎆
And second, just a few ideas:
Pilots who control a plane with their brain ✈️
Operating a robot that does your shopping, while you stay in the metaverse 🛍
A headband that can read minds, mandatory for suspects in court 👩⚖️
A magnetic band that helps patients with phobias, such as claustrophobia 😱
Controlling sex toys with your mind 🍆
That’s what you get when you ask 15-year-old pupils: what applications would a company make with brain-computer interface technology (a method for interacting with computers with your brain signals)?
In the coming year, I want to focus more on foresight and scenario planning. The guest lesson on this high school was a great opportunity for me to practice.
In the first round, the pupils came up with a product or service. In the second round, they discussed the potential risks to both the user and society of their inventions.
About the last idea: well, they are 14 and 15 years old.
A dirty mind…
Talking about brain-machine interfaces, that’s one of the eight ‘WTF!’ moments I had in 2021. More about that in this newsletter.
