Hey friends,
I hope you are home and taking care of yourself and your loved ones.
It has been a disturbing week, with all that has been happening due to Covid all over India. I tried my best to not get overwhelmed by doomscrolling through Twitter. But it is a national emergency and it feels like you cannot help but stay up to date with what is going on.
The way in which some of the ‘social media influencers’ have stepped forward to help people, with their reach—by connecting leads to those in need, non-stop, day after day—has given me a new found respect for them and social media itself (Twitter mostly). Hats off to all these people who have been helping others on a war footing.
The biggest celebrities, on the other hand, who have maintained a deafening silence, who cannot look beyond their PR and public image; who have shown absolutely no solidarity or the courage to speak up, even in these rarest of rare situations—I just hope the country doesn’t forget how they have retreated into their burrows.
I hope you are able to stay at home. I hope you are able to take care of your loved ones. Let me know if you want my help to look up something up on Twitter in case of any emergency (oxygen, beds, medicines anything). I have no following whatsoever, but I can rummage through Twitter for any helpful leads.
Take care.
Until next week,

I am reading my first ever screenplay: Maqbool. Maqbool (an adaptation of Macbeth) is of one of my favourite films, made by one of my favourite human beings, Vishal Bharadwaj. (Maqbool IMDB page)
I am in love with the dialogue writing; there is so much restraint and it packs such a punch. Vishal Bharadwaj is a terrific writer.
