Awhile back I wrote
that the battle for your living room is between Apple, Amazon and Google. Expect that to get crazy soon. Some of you may have the listening devices like Alexa, Echo, Home, HomePod or whatever…but privacy is being abused here a lot I think. Talk at your own risk if you own one.
Since I was a teen I’ve been in tech…I sold Apple II, Commodore VIC-20 and many more when the only thing they did was make writing a letter easier than using the typewriter correcting ribbon (or white out).
I’ve been in the web and mobile since they both began as commercial industries.
So listen up when I say to you now in this era of Facebook stalking you, of Google gathering you, of Amazon amassing you…tech is kind of out of control now.
A key part of one aspect of my new venture is giving you back your power that somehow these giants (especially Facebook and Google) have taken from you without even really asking you.
Oh wait, they did ask.
When you’re done reading these you’ll know what they are doing.
Casual Sunday reading before bedtime:
At some juncture we will move beyond these models of use/abuse of our intent, data, privacy.
Don’t think it will be a government regulation thing but perhaps a user awareness one…
