Don't let gurus sell you on survivorship bias
It’s tempting: courses to teach you how to sell, how to earn a living online, how to make money. Sure, you can learn sales skills, and they are far from useless. But before you spend money and time and energy, understand what survivorship bias is. You hear about the sailors who prayed and survived, not about those who prayed and drowned. Those who make money have not just made money because of their intrinsic qualities – it is also because of the circumstances. And circumstances is not something you can buy with a course. Gurus, and the disciples they put forward, are those who survived. You don’t hear about all the others who paid, worked, and failed.
