Revue is unfortunately choking on the Facebook note link, although it is available publicly (even if you don’t have a Facebook account). So here it is: Drifting.
What Tariq talks about here is part of the reason I still write on my blog. I have felt disenchanted about the “ever faster” trend pretty much forever – speed is not something that drew me to the web, beyond a certain point. 
Again, the other day, I was telling a client about how slow it is to actually build things of value online: relationships, trust, communities. 
I also agree with Tariq, if I interpret what he is saying here correctly, that there is something “wrong” with an industry that exploits weakness in people: that is what tools going for “addictiveness” are doing.
