Startups & Tech

A curated list of the top stories in technology, startups, and venture capital.

GM ☀️
Instead of picking both big tech news + interesting articles, I decided to simplify the format a bit and include just interesting things I find on a weekly basis. Lmk what you all think.
On a personal note, for Playground, we announced our new featured collection, Epoch, is a generative artwork created by the renowned generative artist @Eko33 (featuring this December at Art Basel Miami 2021) + we are doing a public drop with Magic Eden on December 10th. Check it out!

🗞️ Interesting Things from Last Week
  • Square changed its overall name to Block, to tie in all of their products.
  • Why is Docusign a $50B company? TLDR - Its signatures are known and accepted in court.
  • The abilities “big tech” offers are democratizing to everyone, which could be their downfall.
  • Credit card fraud is a business, just like any other business with specialties and their own supply chains.
  • The cloud infrastructure stack is fractionalizing across multiple layers
  • The usage of fintech is global, but the underlying infrastructure is not yet. IMO crypto truly disrupts our current financial infrastructure from an international perspective.
  • David Marcus, the head of Facebook Libra/Novi has left. Here were my own personal thoughts of Libra when it launched and predicted accurately that Libra/Novi wouldn’t launch on schedule.
