This is awesome! During last weeks Cannes Lions festival, WeTransfer annouched @gillespeterson as being their new Creative Director! Working with them on projects in film, music and more. I’m curious on what to come. O and by the way, I’ve enjoyed their first WeTalkMusic podcast series, you might do too.
Again I’m impressed by WeTransfer. The way they connect with the creative industry is fresh and original! Obviously by hooking up with the right people (see post below) and again with this, where Ranking profiled the people who actually live in Cannes; “By turning the lens away from Cannes Lions and focusing instead on the people who inhabit this place, it is an opportunity to stop and appreciate the city that we are colonising for a week.“ …and obviously, WeTransfer is featuring these photos on wetransfer.com. Great!
I enjoyed reading this article on why the Cannes Lions matter. This quote from Chris Wollen; “I think Cannes matters more and more beyond the awards.” and some other signals from friends who went makes me consider visiting the festival next year. Because now the ego’s in advertising starting to vanish, the work can start to speak.
Nobl.io made a fine report on the future of work. It's worth a read.
