Swatantrata Diwas, Boondi and Andha Yug, - Issue #7

Happy Independence day everyone. I hope you ate boondi today. It is a symbol of Independence as the British banned boondi throughout the erstwhile British India.
As Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi said “The day people of India can eat boondi freely, that day we can say that India has achieved independence.” So, if you didn’t ate boondi, then I don’t know what to say.

What am I reading? 📚
Andha Yug - Dark depiction of events of Mahabharata from the 17th day of Kurukshetra war t0 the death of Lord Krishna. To read my small review - click here.
Invaders and Infidels - Completed this yesterday. It deals with the events of Islamic conquests in India starting from 7th century to the coronation of Jalal-ud-din Khalji but not in a NCERT way. It’s the first part of a 5 book series. Doesn’t make much sense to me as it could’ve been covered in one or atmost 3 volumes, given the short length of this b0ok.
Try this out 👨‍🔬
Discover your local area - You might think your area doesn’t have a lot of places to explore or that you’ve explored all of them. But you might have missed on some small things which you never thought existed. I went to a small museum last month and discovered a bookstore, which I never expected.
I also helped one uncle by telling him about location of one obscure bank as I used to roam into any random street during the evening.
Open google maps, roam around in free time & discover new places.
Favorites of the week 🖤
It is a poem by Dinkar Ji. The blog also contains a lot of other good poems.
