🆕 Updates
It’s been a busy week with a new job and settling into my new house.
Beta Directory has been continuing to grow the last few weeks with over 75 beta products added to the directory and counting. The newsletter is also continuing to grow organically. Over the next few weeks, I plan to make a few tweaks to the site in an attempt to feature it on Product Hunt.
Lastly, I’ve spent a lot of time this week researching NFT’s (hence this week’s subject title). I recently joined the Shiny Object Social Club to level up my knowledge. Hopefully next month I will have one to share.
Last months numbers:
📈 August: Open Rate 37% | CTR 31% | Total Subs 3,320 🔥

🐦 Tweet of the month
This tweet was perhaps one of the best threads I’ve read on Twitter. Kevin tells a fascinating short story about a young man with no money, home, or tech experience and his relentless drive and pursuit to work and eventually build a tech startup in SF. Over the years Kevin later admitted the young man had outgrown him and had switched roles and began mentoring him.

1/ In my early 20s, I met a young man at a local product management school in SF I had been teaching at on weekends. He approached me after class and told me he snuck into class as an unregistered student. He revealed that he was homeless and slept on a mattress in his car.
⚡️ Flashback
I’ll leave you with this conceptual image of a portable WinAmp player that could be folded up into a business card-sized MP3 player. And for those of you who aren’t familiar with WinAmp - it was an old Windows media player from that late ‘90s which was sold to AOL for $80m. This modern take was created by artist Julien Rivoire who makes everything from imagined retro-tech gadgets to soothing, looping animations that provide a visual oasis. You can check out some of this other art on his website.
That’s it for this month!
