Happy 2021 🍾 and I hope this email finds you well.

Speed matters.

Especially, when it comes to your website. Search engines penalise sites that load slowly - and so do your users. They will come to your site, wait and leave. I have started the year with a project to speed up a web app. Initial web and mobile scores (link below to the software I use to track this) were below average so now it’s time to dig in and optimise.

I have been fascinated by Jana Winderen‘s soundscapes. She is a Norway-based audio artist. She creates soundscapes by paying particular attention to “audio environments and to creatures which are hard for humans to access, both physically and aurally – deep under water, inside ice or in frequency ranges inaudible to the human ear.” These soundscapes are perfect when you are reading or in deep work.
