Patrick Williams has been a step behind since his return from wrist surgery. The game versus the Hornets marked his 11th game since returning from injury and his 16th of the season.
Since his return, Williams has posted double-figure point totals four times, according to prosportsreference.com
. On Saturday, he scored 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting, adding four rebounds and three assists.
The film exemplifies Williams’s ability to play make with the ball, which is having a hand in his development as a second-year player. He traditionally plays off the ball, and when he has the ball, he’s usually only creating for himself.
But, as a former point guard in high school, he has the skillset to facilitate and create opportunities for others, as he does in the video. Hopefully, this continues.
His defense is still a step behind. This is crucial because he’s one of the Bulls’ best defenders. However, with gameplay and expectation, I expect Williams to step up come playoff time.
The Bulls will play their final regular-season game against the Minnesota Timberwolves as they await the battle between the top seeds in the Eastern Conference that will dictate who they play in the first round of the playoffs.
