Question 1: Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?
I’m from Eugene and started playing in the RVS while working on my bachelor’s degree at the University of Oregon. I moved to San Francisco in 2014 to do my master’s at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and started playing with the RVS again in 2019!
Question 2: What brought or inspired you to pursue horn? If you’d like to share one of your favorite pieces of music as well, I’d like to know!
My dad played the horn as a kid before becoming a professional bass player. I started playing his old horn and ended up sticking with it.
Question 3: What do you enjoy most about being with the Rogue Valley Symphony?
Our audience! I love getting to play three concerts and am always so appreciative of how attentive and enthusiastic our audience members are.
Question 4: What do you do when you’re not playing music i.e. what are your hobbies or interests?
I love watching baseball and softball. Turning a game on mute and playing my scales is one of my favorite activities. I also love cats, reading, and going on bike rides with my husband.
Question 5: Finally, one unusual fact, story, or tidbit about you or your instrument?
I once played a concert at an elevation of over 11,000 feet. It was challenging!
