Irregular updates about me and my endeavor to start an indie app company

Hi there!
In this newsletter I’m going to give you a sneak peek at the app I’m working on.
If you want to help me beta test and you own an iPhone or iPad, please join the beta waiting list!

A notes app for your contacts
I have worked on an iPhone/iPad app the past 2 months, and it is ready to be tested! I’m solving one of my own problems with this app: the challenge of remembering things about your friends, family and co-workers.
I’m not really proud of it but I’ve forgotten birthdays, baby due dates, whether someone had paid me back money that he owed me, names of children, and so on 😬. You can imagine that that could be quite painful when seeing the person in question again.
So when I decided to take some time and build apps, the first project that came to mind was a note taking app for contacts.
The app is called Hippo, after the Hippocampus, the part of the brain that is associated with creating new memories.
With Hippo you can add notes, events and to-dos to your contacts. So the next time you’re going to meet someone, a quick glance to their profile in Hippo will remind you of the things you wanted to follow up on.

For me, having this app (and the early prototype that I built in Airtable) has already been very helpful with remembering things, I think you’ll find it useful too. Hippo can be useful to keep track of friends and family. But also in a business setting, for remembering team members birthdays, anniversaries, 1:1 notes, etcetera.
If you like to have a look at Hippo and help me test it, reply to me or subscribe to the beta testers list. And I’ll invite you to test the app as soon as Apple lets me.
