In memory of Mohammad Fahmi

The Rice Digital Weekly Digest
The Rice Digital Weekly Digest
Hello everyone! It’s been a busy week as usual, but the excitement of various things was very much tempered by the sad announcement that Mohammad “fahmitsu” Fahmi, creator of the thoroughly lovely Coffee Talk, passed away this week aged just 32. He was a wonderful, creative force in this industry and he will be dearly missed – but I think it’s fair to say that he’s left a lasting legacy for people to remember him by.
With the sheer number of pieces of media released on a daily basis, it’s sometimes easy to forget that there are real people behind each and every one of them. Not every one is necessarily the work of a single author with complete creative control, of course – particularly with the rise of corporate triple-A – but there absolutely still are some incredible passion projects out there where an individual’s creative vision truly shines through.
If you come across something like that which really touches you, be sure to take a moment and thank that creator while you have the opportunity. It’s easier than ever these days to reach out to someone and say something – and with the amount of negativity online these days, I can say with certainty that any creator will very much appreciate an honest message of simple support and gratitude!

And that’s your lot for another week. Sorry about missing last week’s Weekly Digest, but… uh… I forgot to post it. I was visiting my parents, all right, then I got a really nasty cold that I’ve been trying to shake off all week and oh woe is me and all that.
Anyway. We at Rice Digital hope you’ve had a lovely week and are, at the time of writing, just embarking on an equally or considerably more lovely weekend. We’re all off to chill with video games and cute anime girls, and we’ll see you again on Monday. Ta-ta!
