More together than apart

Together we find courage
Humanity loves heroes. We tend to celebrate the one lone man or woman who leads the charge, and can easily be fooled into thinking that history is changed by extraordinary individuals working entirely alone.
But God doesn’t achieve his purposes that way. He calls us a family, members of a body, and says that each of us has a part to play. A recent article on the Newfrontiers theology blog shows how this truth is depicted in the film Darkest Hour
Winston Churchill, the hero of the film, is at his lowest ebb, struggling alone to resist calls for capitulation to the Nazis. He is about to give in when first his wife and then the King himself speak words of comfort and support to him. Only through knowing he is not alone does Churchill find the strength and the courage to carry on and take the bold steps that must be taken to win a victory and survive to fight another day.
The COURAGE conference is not a call for loners and mavericks to stride out and do their own thing. It is a call for all of us to play our parts together. As individuals we are weak and vulnerable. As a family we can support, help and en-courage one another. we are more together than we are apart. Book in now, and take courage; you are not alone.
Meet the team - part 2

UP: 24-7 Prayer at Life Church
Throughout this week, Life Church, Peterborough have had people praying 24 hours a day, in Wouter’s office (I think he vacated it first).
Everyone in the church was encouraged to find two hour-long slots for prayer over the week, and at the time of writing there were just a few hours left available for people to sign up to over the weekend. Watch this video to find out more:
