Raising - and being - spiritual sons and daughters

A new season begins
For many in the Northern Hemisphere, this season marks the beginning of a new academic year. Students in North America, Scotland and much of Europe have already returned to school, perhaps entering a new class, with a new teacher and new kids to get to know and find their place among. In England and Wales, that new start is coming this week, and families have just a few more days to sew those all important name labels into every item of clothing.
Then of course there’s the university and college students, many moving to new towns and seeking new communities of believers to get plugged into, and the new intake of ID and LEAD students taking their next steps of discipleship.
Let’s be praying for them all as the new season begins, and for the parents sending their little ones (and not so little ones) out into this new season of growth, with its attendant joys and challenges.
And if there’s anyone younger than you in your church - either physically or in the faith - why not ask God how you can invest in one or two of them this year?
Lessons that last
One place to start is by talking to the young people - or even the youth leaders or other servers - in your church who went to Newday this year. Ask them what God spoke to them about, and ask how you can be praying for them - some ideas and testimonies are in the post below from our website.
And if they didn’t go to Newday - ask them what God has been speaking to them about anyway - he doesn’t just speak at events, after all…
Lessons that last
And for even more ideas, listen to seminars S4, S7 and SS1 from the COURAGE conference.
