Here is our second installment of the new Regular Rotation, and look, it’s even coming out in the same month as the last one. Progress! This is a better collection of what to expect for future newsletters. It’s a collection of things we loved over the last few weeks:
You may have heard all the recent hype about Station Eleven and be thinking, Do I really want to watch a post-apocalyptic show about a pandemic during our own pandemic? Which is fair; we weren’t sure if we were ready when we dove in, but then we couldn’t stop watching! We think it is a remarkable adaptation; though we haven’t read the book, we really need to now though. It provides an interesting perspective on trauma and gives us insight into grappling with what’s happened over the last two years.
We were big fans of quickly, quickly’s album, The Long and Short of It, from last year, and we love this feature from Pitchfork. We always appreciate when they do these longer pieces, and it’s a worthwhile read on a new artist to check out.
Before they drop their new album, our good friends and 3/5 Record Machine alumni have put out their final single, Close To Me. Every single on this cycle has been entirely different and has us really excited for this album to come out.
We recently picked up a bottle of this local agave spirit and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and smoothness. It’s hard to believe this quality of tequila was distilled here in KC, but they have been at it for a few years now. Check it out, and if you are local, they have a great bar in the Crossroads.
Thanks for reading and listening. This newsletter is free, but if you want to show your support, please forward it to someone who’d enjoy it! Or if you like what we are doing you might think about buying some merch or supporting us on Buy Me A Coffee
