What is that dream you have for your life?
The one you go back to over and over. The one that feels like freedom, or maybe an expression of your best self.
Take a moment to close your eyes and see yourself realizing that dream. It’s ok to want, it’s ok to give yourself permission to hope.
Are you surfing, or hiking with friends unconcerned about keeping up? Are you feeling free to travel and try long-held desires?
Our day to day anesthetizes us from those ideas of ourselves. It’s easy to shelve them in the face of our routines and obligations. But, those are for the most part the excuses we use not to stand up and try.
The hard part is to allow for wanting more. It’s big and scary to bring our dreams into clear view.
Here’s an easy roadmap to getting started.
  1. Face yourself, which seems far more painful than it usually is. Our worst fears about our own deficiencies are rarely as bad as we imagine.
  2. Own the wanting.
  3. Identify what the inaction is linked to. Be honest, withhold the judgment (that never did any good, anyway).
  4. Ask for help.
I know about seeing through my dreams and I’m here to tell you it’s worth the work to get there.
The picture of me surfing below was taken 6 days before my first chemotherapy infusion for breast cancer. I’d lost the weight four years prior and had built a habit of finding solace in athletics and nature. Instead of crying on my couch, I headed to Costa Rica for a 10-day surf camp to realize one of my dreams.
I got my ass kicked and loved every minute of it. I hired a guide and went into the mountains. I went snorkeling in empty inlets. I paddle boarded through an ancient mangrove forest. I held those memories dear as I went through treatment.
I’ve had many adventures since with more to come 💙
For a lot of people, losing weight is the keystone to big dreams.
That was true for me. I wanted ease in my body, and the security of knowing it could do what I asked of it. I wanted to get dressed with joy.
I wanted to present myself with absolute confidence and enjoy the fruits of those experiences. I’m happy to say, that all happened and more.
My life continues to unfold. Free of weight worries, I have space to think about my own evolution. It’s a source of deep satisfaction and a well of joy I tap into over and over.
My program is designed to set you on the path to realizing your opportunities. You will learn how to achieve and maintain a healthy weight inside your own life, which is the only way for it to stick.
If you’re ready to go from dreams deferred to dreams realized, I’m here to help.
Yours in optimism and good health,
Rebecca
