This month we bring together resources of support for the Afghan Crisis, new events, funding opportunities and job vacancies. We are currently in the process of producing a handbook by our FIAP team on legal options, advice and resourcesĀ focused on The Afghan Crisis. Please find below interim resources.

Free Online Carers Support Group 26 Aug, 5.30pm-7pm, Zoom Delivered by Refugee Councilās therapeutic team, this will be a space for foster carers, accommodation providers and social workers to express concerns about the care of young Afghans.

Translated Family Tracing Service The British Red Cross have translated their family tracing information into Dari and Pashto, directed at those worried about family in Afghanistan.Ā

Stories of Resilience - Launch event Wed 29 Sept 1-2pm Stories of Resilience is a UK-wide storytelling initiative celebrating how migrants worked alongside grassroots groups/organisations to connect and cope in creative ways during Covid-19. This event will showcase the diverse stories and hear from those involved in the project. ā

The Smiles Fund by Walkers & Comic Relief Deadline: 11am, 15 Sept 2021 Funds will support projects designed to start conversations and reduce the stigma associated with poor mental wellbeing, as well as promote positive social connections and help people build resilience to tackle lifeās everyday challenges. ā

Asylum Matters - Deputy Director Deadline: 5 Sept 2021 Asylum Matters are looking for a politically-savvy campaigner with a track record of developing impactful campaigns. The Deputy Director will have experience of collaborative working and will bring together expertise and resources from organisations, in order to secure positive asylum reforms.

HBF - Expert by Experience Board of Trustees Observer Deadline: 20 Sept 2021 The Helen Bamber Foundation are currently recruiting for paid roles (between 8-10 days per year) for survivors of torture and trafficking to contribute, advise and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on their work and strategy. ā
