Hey urbanists!
If you’ve been subscribed to this newsletter for a few issues (or if you follow me Twitter), you’ll know I’m no fan of Uber, and an MIT study released this week gives me more reason to oppose it. The median driver wage is only $3.37 per hour
Instead of letting ride-hailing vehicles dominate our streets, this issue has articles looking at the shift toward cycling and transit, as well as more coverage of the proposed congestion pricing for New York City. The NYTimes article looking its implementation in  London, Singapore, and Stockholm is particularly good.
Finally, going international, I’ve included a couple of articles about what’s going on in Rome with transit expansions and vehicle bans. Former Toronto chief planner Jennifer Keesmaat has been sharing a lot about urbanism in Vienna 🇦🇹 this week, so definitely check out her Twitter feed.
Have a great Sunday and I’ll be back next week!
