Arospec Art Show
Last month, from the 21st to the 27th, was Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week: a whole week to celebrate the arospecs! So all month long, every Friday, I made art inspired by an arospec orientation. And during the week itself, I released a piece daily. Lastly, I made a digital quilt that compiles all of this year’s arospec art together, which i released on the 28th.
A light green layer on top of a medium green layer, a medium blue layer, a dark blue layer, and a white-green layer.

“unable to distinguish the difference between romantic and platonic attraction… due to one’s status as neurodivergent.”
neurotypical counterpart: platoniromantic
closely related: idemromantic
I’ve known about neurogenders for a while now, and those are super cool. So learning about neuro-orientations was like “oh yes, of course neurotype can affect your orientation(s) too!” People like me have our own branch of queerness! ^-^ And we have wiki pages! It makes me very happy.

“someone who feels that they were, at one point alloromantic, but that has been taken or ‘cut away’ from them due to past trauma.”

Beneath the light blue rectangle is a light yellow rectangle that reaches halfway across the image, starting from the right side. A ways below that is a silver square peeking out of the right side. These four pieces were inspired by an older, yellow-striped aromantic flag.
The reason we use the white-striped flag now instead of this one is because yellow can cause people sensory issues; and pride needs to include everybody, not just neurotypical people. Ableist queers can fuck right off.

Arospec people are queer, period! We do not need another queer identity to be queer. We are queer just by virtue of being arospec.
This newsletter, including all the art and words in it, were made by an arospec* person. If you exclude arospec people from the queer community, you’re excluding me too. And I’m way more queer than you’ll ever be 😛
*I generally just call myself aro or arospec since I’m satisfied with those labels; but I could specify that further with nebularomantic and occasional bouts of requisromanticism. I’m very demiromantic too. It takes me forever to slot people into the friends category, let alone the love interests category.
But anyway, I hope my art and words are affirming to any of my fellow arospecs partaking in this newsletter.
And I hope alloromantics are inspired to learn more about the many wonderful identities included in the aromantic spectrum, and to learn from arospec people and our experiences. Who knows? Maybe you’re not as alloromantic as you think.
And I hope arophobes fuck right off.

Streaming for Texans
Trans Tiltify is still streaming for the Texas branch of the American Red Cross. This pandemic is already straining medical and hospital staff, and these recent blizzards and blackouts have only made it worse.
So if you’re looking for some cool trans, nonbinary, and trans nonbinary (and werewolf and protogen) twitch streamers to check out and a way to help out Texans, you can do both!
Various members of the group will be streaming all throughout the week. They’re all amazing people, and I’m so happy to see them working their asses off for an equally amazing cause.
Hackiko (they/he): twitch, twitter
Eurymachus (they/them): twitch, twitter
Lykios (he/him): twitch, twitter
Chaos Crypt (varies per member): twitch, twitter
Mabus the Dark (they/them): twitch, twitter
Lucid Shitposts (he/him): twitch, twitter
Bujomom (she/they): twitch, twitter
Maysimmie (she/her): twitch, twitter
Nano_Ninja (masculine language): facebook, twitter
Crim (he/him): twitch, twitter
Rhi (she/it): twitch, twitter
And while we're at it...
Another cool trans nonbinary streamer you should check out is Mx Ezri Robyn (she/fae/ast). I caught faer SoulSilver stream the other day, and it was tons of fun! Ast burned a snorlax, slaughtered some digletts, collected care packages, visited the museum, and made a bunch of youngsters cry!
You can find her on twitter and twitch.
You can also watch and share a clip of faer stream here.
I’m also shouting out a trans nonbinary streamer with Tourette’s: Delta V Rain (she/her)! I watched her kick ass in the Halo 2 remake!
Her twitch.
What's on Deck (and the sign-off)
Later this month, we’ll be featuring recugender, floric, and genderfluid art. If there’s any queer flag(s) you’d like to see in the near-ish future, let us know through a DM on twitter, or through an email to queersletter@gmail.com (subject line: Flag Plz).
You can support Queersletter by following us on twitter, and by throwing money at our ko-fi and patreon. These are completely optional. Please only do them if you feel moved and are able to do so.
Feedback can be emailed to us at queersletter@gmail.com, subject line: Feedback (1, if about this specific issue).
Thank you for taking time to read this. Enjoy what you do here and everywhere! 💖
