Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen Over 103.5 Rush Yards
The Odds: -115
I’m not sure why this line is so low. Illinois has been solid against the run this season but hasn’t been challenged against Indiana, Chattanooga, Wyoming, and Virginia.
Facing Wisconsin’s notorious downhill running game could expose an Illinois defense that ranked middle-of-the-pack against the run last season.
We know Allen will see 25-30 carries in this tight conference game. He has gone over 103.5 rushing yards in 10 of his last 13 games. That includes a cool 18-131-1 performance against Illinois last season.
This should be a somewhat competitive game with Wisconsin favored by a touchdown at home. That’s enough for the Badgers to keep feeding the ball to their star running back for the entire game. In other words, Allen could easily rip off 30 carries to cruise over this total.
Simply put, this rushing prop is too low at 103.5 yards. Somewhere closer to 110-115 would have been a more realistic baseline, and we know Allen has 200+ yard upside if he breaks off a couple of long runs.
