Curated content about Product Management and Marketing. From idea validation to achieving product/market fit.

Happy Tuesday!
So, I’m super passionate about the world of Product Discovery but as I talk to other product people I’ve realized most of them don’t actually run customer interviews until after they’ve built something, either a mockup or a feature. But that’s too late and it’s a biased approach. Here’s what I suggest to do before you create anything:
1- Run at least a dozen of interviews with people who’ve expressed they have a certain challenge or problem you’d like to solve.
2- Ask them what their single biggest challenge is when it comes to [insert your topic here].
3- Only ask open-ended questions and listen carefully without leading them to the answer you’d like to hear.
Do you run such interviews? Hit reply and let me know how you approach them and what your challenges are.
