Startup Digest Portugal - where the European Ecosystem is heading - Week #15

Welcome back to this week’s edition of Startup Digest Portugal!

Startup Heatmap Report is out with a lot of perspectives and interesting insights on where the European Ecosystem is heading. Lisbon is among a number of startup hubs increasing their annual investments raised but clear outperform the leadership group: London, Paris and Berlin with more than 50% of all investments in Europe among themselves. The key lever for cities to compete in this race is to support the build-up of world-class ecosystems comprised of entrepreneurial culture, talent availability and diversity, startup-friendly policies, international openness as well as the existence of vibrant communities. Capital is a result of this, not the source.

These dynamics spur the growth of ecosystems and that’s where our focus should be in.
