Olá and welcome to your digest,
Just a few weeks from the long waited, !! in person!!, WebSummit. This year expecting 40,000 people, over 1,000 speakers and 1,250 startups from around the world to attend Europe’s biggest technology conference. Lisbon is in the Top 10 most attractive startup cities in the world offering more than 100 coworking spaces in the city and having raised €42.6 million for investments only in 2020. This is the place to be next November 1st.
Once again Made of Lisboa offered entries to startups for this year’s edition. Well done everyone and make the most of this great opportunity.
Last week, commenting on the impact of the proposed tax law, I made reference that government should encourage more early-stage investments by the private sector.
Investors Portugal could be, and I’m confident that they will be, a great contributor for more early-stage investments and the growth of the ecosystem. “Investors Portugal”, an association that results from the merger of the “National Federation of Business Angels” and the “Portuguese Association of Business Angels” represents around 425 Business Angels and 23 Venture Capital Funds, whose mission is to raise investment, support Startups in early-stage.
Excellent contribution and keen to see the results of this merge. 👏
