Hi there, Pip here!
I will tell you a little bit about recent months. I still find it hard to believe everything that’s been happening since februari when I released my first song on Spotify. The reactions have been really good and the tracks are nearing 400.000 plays on Spotify alone, incredible! In a blogpost I wrote how Spotify helped me getting here.
I started of doing everything myself, but now we’re a band with Tender (gtr, vx), Berend (bass, keyboard) and Bowie (drums). We’re playing a lot and we have plans to play a lot more! In the Netherlands, but abroad as well. Our first small UK tour was so much fun!
I hope you enjoy the Autumn Pip Update!
All the best,
Pip

Music
The last time I sent a newsletter was on the day the EP ‘Are We There Yet?’ was released. The reviews have been really good (you see a few of them later on) and Taxidriver has been played on the BBC in the UK, on KCRW in the US, was featured in the Spotify UK list Indie Songs For Slackers, etcetera. Can’t complain at all!
But since then there has been more! For example, Nena Broersen made a brilliant videoclip of Taxi Driver. And there was the release of the EP 'Working On It’ on the Paradiso Vinyl Club, the talent label of Amsterdams finest club. Really proud of that! Thank you Kees, Lisa, Jurry and Everaldo!
Oh and another thing I’m happy with is AWAL as a digital distributor. A special thank you to Jim Nash and Margaret Jacobi. They helped me getting noticed by the relevant curators of all the international streaming platforms. Because of that, Apple Music has been really important this time around when you look at the plays.

Reviews
Since my first release in februari I have already had 60 reviews and interviews in blogs, magazines and newspapers. Wow! Can I thank Claire Lim and her team at A Badge Of Frienship plus Tim Britton in the UK and Jake Whitener of Big Hassle in the US for all the hard work they did for me? Thanks! Here are some of the reviews

Gigs
One of the important things of the past months was that we now have Friendly Fire as a booking agency. Really happy with Pien and Katja representing us and advising us on a lot of things.
Other great things were that we did a small UK tour (thanks Pete, Dave, Karen, Sam, Amanda!), that we played the Paradiso for the first time (yeah!), that we were artist of the day in Holland’s most popular talkshow De Wereld Draait Door (only a million viewers or so ;-) and that we started playing a lot.
Because that’s what we (Pip, Tender, Berend and Bowie) like. To play!
Friends who don’t live in the Netherlands, you have to wait a little but we hope to cross our borders again next year. For now we’re really proud to go on tour to support Canshaker Pi, a brilliant Dutch band that just released their debut album. Check it out! We have the following gigs lined up with them:
  • 18-11 Oedipus, Amsterdam
  • 02-12 V11, Rotterdam
  • 16-12 Asteriks, Leeuwarden
  • 17-12 De Gym, Groningen
  • 22-12 Cul de Sac, Tilburg
  • 23-12 Ekko, Utrecht
  • 06-01 Merleyn, Nijmegen
  • 07-01 Oefenbunker, Landgraaf
And after that we have been selected to play the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival in Groningen on 14-01! Yeah!
