Pip Blom

We send this letter to people we've had contact with or people we think are interested in us and our music. Updates about music, tours and media. If we're wrong, we're sorry, then don't hesitate and unsubscribe! All the best, Pip, Tender, Darek, Gini.

Hi friends,
What have the recent months meant to us, an indie band from Amsterdam?
  1. No gigs. Like the rest of the world, all gigs have been cancelled since march. No clubs, no festivals. Grrrr.
  2. No work. A lot of artists make a little extra by working in bars and clubs and stuff. They have been closed as well. So we couldn’t work our side jobs. Things are starting little by little again, but a long way to go.
  3. No money. When you don’t play gigs and can’t do your side job, there’s no money coming in. Zero. Luckily we’ve had some state support, but will that last?
It is sad, right ;-) But we’re all in the same boat (pun intended)!
What do you do then?
This is no newsletter to complain, this is our reality.
And of course we’ve been doing other stuff.
We’re here to make music and this is what we do:
  1. Write demos. Pip wrote 20 tunes and recorded the demos for the songs.
  2. Sign a deal. We signed a deal with Heavenly for our second album. Great.
  3. Start rehearsing. We’ve been rehearsing 3 times a week and are doing fine!
  4. Book a studio. We will return to Big Jelly in Ramsgate later this year to record our second album.

Plus ... Pip Blom Backstage
As you know we started Pip Blom Backstage, our little online community for people that like our music. You can become a Free member to get a lot of free nice stuff and become a Premium (for 4 euro p/m digital goodies like demos and special videos plus spots on future guestlists) or Deluxe member (10 euro p/m for added physical extra’s like a magazine and a handmade guestlist) if you want more. How have we been doing? We are happy how things go. Of course we can’t live form this (jet ;-) , but it helps us to get close to the people that like our tunes and cover some of the costs we have. Thanks for the support! Some facts:
  • 500 members. The first 500 people joined Pip Blom Backstage. Cool.
  • 50 Premium and Deluxe members. 50 of them became paid members. 2/3 of them chose the Deluxe version. Thanks so much!
  • 130 pictures. We’ve been adding community options like a chat-section and a picture section. People uploaded 130 images, a great community photo album.
And ... on tour!
This feels very far away, but according to all the reactions, you all look forward to live gigs as much as we do. We will be joining Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever on their UK + NL tour in march 2021!
