“The most powerful control we can ever attain is to be in control of ourselves.”

That’s all I see when I open up Facebook (after installing the newsfeed eradicator). Inspired by this article putting the cards clearly on the table again. Social media is a failure. In what you may ask? In bringing eudaemonics into people’s lives. An economy built around maximizing profit at the exchange of people’s happiness cannot be the right path. And the algorithm is broken and fake (Dutch).
It’s not an exaggeration to describe iGen (Born between 1995 and 2012) as being on the brink of the worst mental-health crisis in decades. Much of this deterioration can be traced to their phones. A lack of real interactions, no need to work, nor to rebel towards their parents bring a new (save but insecure) generation of adults into this world.
At least trying to end with a positive note, check out this great article about the new EP of Kamasi Washington.
Enjoy the weekend! 🎉
