Otherworld Games
Hello Otherworldly Beings,
It’s been a minute. Otherworld Games has been hard at work on multiple board games. We haven’t committed to regular updates on when our first games will be launched — sorry about that! We’re going to commit to a monthly update cadence, as we’re so excited about what’s in the pipeline.
Here’s a rundown of what Otherworld Games has been working on.

Our debut game, Nine Muses, will be out this Fall
Nine Muses is a fast-paced card drafting game where you select muses who will help you be the first to obtain enlightenment as a great philosopher. You trade the three types of knowledge as defined by Aristotle: techne (craft skills), episteme (scientific discovery), and phronesis (ethical wisdom).
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the artwork for the muse cards.
NOTE: Nine Muses isn’t finalized and the cards are subject to change.

It’s likely that Nine Muses won’t be crowdfunded, but instead will be a direct release through The Game Crafter as a mint-tin game (a board game that fits in a standard Altoids-like mint tin container) with a print-and-play version available through itch.io.
We don’t yet have a specific launch date, but we’re aiming for Late-October or Early-November. We’ll update you as things get closer to the finish line.
I've entered a limited comms game into a contest
This card game, titled Lingua Franca, is based on the idea of different alien species needing to create a shared language between them to communicate the correct mission to take, as depicted visually by mission card illustrations. Language cards are used for a “Spotter” to communicate with the “Responders,” who must select the correct mission.

More details on Lingua Franca, including when the game launches, will be available in the coming months. It’s got to go through the motions of the contest first!

Other games in development
Right now, there are several other games in various stages of development, including a game that has been completed but unfortunately has to be shelved due to high manufacturing and shipping costs. We’re figuring out ways of reducing those costs and may seek crowdfunding for this game and a few others that are more expensive.
That might sound vague, but that’s all the info available right now. You’ll get updates as soon as we have them.
That’s all for now, until next time. See you later, Otherworldly Beings.
