🏴‍☠️ Independent Assistants 🏴‍☠️
Welcome to the new world of 1000s of assistants… Well at least some think so. I do. Independent is the key word. Companies don’t wat to be stuck in the walled garden of Google or Amazon. every one wanted a website eventually. Everyone wanted a mobile app eventually. And yes, now everyone will want a virtual assistant.

👩🏼‍🏫 Notable Research🎓
Below an important piece of work. Dutch researchers are learning how to work with bias in automatic speech recognition. As I see it, they are looking to recognise and to control bias. Odette Sharenborg is the leading scientist working on this. Follow her.
On a side note: I learned that the use of acronyms in research papers are there to keep it short. When submitting papers there are a maximum of papers. To get the most words in acronyms are used. Don’t let it stop you read the paper (link after the tweet below).

How large is the bias in a State-of-the-Art #ASR system for Dutch?

We quantified bias for:
- gender
- native/non-native speakers
- regional accents
- age

Very proud of this work:
