Explore, The Herman Miller Store.
Moving from Paris to New York was an opportunity to have a fresh new start and do new good design shopping. As a lover of minimalism, I prefer having limited yet eclectic modern furniture. For example, I love the MoMa Design Store in SoHo for having an exclusive corner shop of Normann Copenhagen, the Danish brand of pretty furniture and accessories, but the most impressive is surely the Herman Miller Store.
Herman Miller is a notable American manufacturer of modern home and office furniture. In late 2016, they opened a clean and beautiful 2-floor flagship store in Midtown designed to feel like home. The very large space displayed iconic pieces of industrial design and small goods, created by outstanding and independent world designers. Among them, you can find the classic chairs of Charles and Ray Eames, the famous Noguchi table of its eponymous creator, the playful Marshmallow Sofa of George Nelson or the colorful Îîle Lamp of the French designer Inga Sempé, textile artisans objects and many other designers brands.
Some of them can be found at Design within Reach, a well-known retailer in the USA which also has an exclusive selection of beautiful pieces.
Make sure to explore all three!
