Good evening on Sunday night and hope your weekend went well!
In this week’s issue, Let’s check out the publishers’ revenue strategies and their success and failure, and bullet points on becoming a successful internet influencers. Remember, shame is for the weak!
I included more personal development articles such as biohacking 101 and a sign-up page for a global hackathon created by Product Hunt. If you register by midnight tonight 29th US time, you will be able to participate this month-long event (Hi, developer friends). Anyone with a computer is welcome to participate, from solo makers to teams of people. I signed up to understand and learn how this month-long event being organized and how people across the globe working collaboratively. If anyone is interested in the Machine learning, I’d be happy to get to know more about your idea.  That’s all very exciting to see when people come together as a community.   😎
The categories include:
Social Impact
Blockchain / Crypto
Augmented Reality
Slack
The Google Assistant
Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
🕵️
Lastly, I attended an event at Buzzfeed this week. Their data science team showcased a content recommendation system which is driven by machine learning. It seems they used the standard metrics/KPI to see what’s working and what is not working. The data team is fully embedded in the editorial team and work side by side with editors in real time.
Overall, it was good to see how data team being able to influence their editorial directions. By adopting this recommendation system, my only question left was; would the content feeds become too homogenous to readers?
Until next week,
Olivia
