Welcome back!
Last week, Google formally announced that they’re making the description snippets that go along with each search result longer. This has consequences much larger than the formal short-term changes.
For one thing, the top results will come to dominate clickthrough rates even more — ‘cus no one has time for all that scrolling.
More text in search results also means in many cases people would be able to find what they’re looking for right there on the results page and wouldn’t need to click on a result at all.
However, this change is also an opportunity. Learn how to quickly take advantage of it to improve your rankings.
