Newsletter#3 - Hurrah! I'm not working today ...

Eoghan from NightSchool.ie

A look at some of the highlights from our week of online learning and the existential question about a holiday Monday within a holiday within a pandemic lockdown and yet I still appear to be working.
Anyway, there’s deadlines to think about.

September Online
We’ve learned a lot from this pandemic: We’ve learned that a lot of the commute was unnecessary in time and money and cost to the environment. We’ve learned that the Internet works. We’ve learned that we can indeed work together online. And we’ve learned that online meetings and classes have been a godsend to people up and down rural Ireland.
So we’re going to be online again for QQI & ATI certification this September 2021 for a new term of courses.
Stay tuned.
SummerSchool.ie Deadlines
All courses will have officially closed for applications by Sunday the 11th of April. Check the website for closing dates for individual courses. https://nightschool.ie
Many course nights are full and places are filling fast. Applications numbers are double what they have been in previous terms so we will fill many courses before the deadline.
Many courses are already officially closed and only accepting some late applications.
Student Registration
Student registration will be completed by Monday the 12th, by which date you will have your new @onlinecollege.ie email address and Moodle login.
If you already have a student account @onlinecollege.ie it will not change.
Your chosen course may not appear on your menu in Moodle until the week classes start on Tuesday the 20th - when your tutor has fully prepared.
Orientation Week
Orientation week begins on Tuesday the 13th. All registered students will have their new @onlinecollege.ie email addresses and Moodle logins and will be invited to join us for one of the Orientation Nights on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Join us on whichever night suits you best. We’ll be going through the technology we use, your account and logging in, and the basics for online classes.
Use a computer or laptop, and you might even want to try out your new @onlinecollege.ie login which will be emailed to you by Monday the 12th.

Yes, we love Spreadsheets and Healthcare and open data.
So stay safe everyone. It hasn’t gone away. Cases numbers go up and down each day randomly, but we’re plotting the 14-day average - and while it’s currently falling slowly, it’s been going in the wrong direction lately.
