You’ve been subscribed to my newsletter for a while but I didn’t send updates unless I was organizing a conference. Now that’s about to change.
The newsletter is now migrated to Revue and will feature:
  • Events I organize or take part in
  • Updates on my opensource work in JS supply chain security
  • Training/workshops announcements, knowledge sharing
Sent to you by tours truly.

meet.js Summit 2022 wrap up
Hope you saw for yourself how good 2022 Summit was. I almost cancelled everything in the middle of summer because we didn’t know if we’ll get more than 200 people to attend. We panicked and started giving tickets away - 100 tickets to general public and 100 tickets for female coders organizations. After all that, paid tickets started selling faster than free. Oh well… Next time I should probably use a kickstarter to sell tickets.
Attendance was great. Out of the tickets that were paid for we had less than 10% no-show which is normal for conferences that sell for 20x the price.
Paid tickets with only 9.7% no-show - that's cool!

We spent less than that on organizing the conference itself!

🤗 Big thankyou to all of you ticket buyers, to our sponsors and to the lovely couple who won the auction of the meet.js gift box. 🤗 https://t.co/Nrw67k8G8Y
I’ll be updating my notes on organizing a conference with new post-pandemic conclusions soon. https://dev.to/naugtur/community-conference-organizer-checklist-5d45
