Get lost in James Turrell's otherworldly settings 🌌🎨
‘More people have heard of me through Drake than anything else’, and I’m guilty to say I’m one of those people. The Hotline Bling video, although not a work of Turrel, it such a close resemblance it’s been called a rip-off more than once. All shade aside, James Turrell’s work is otherworldly to me. If you have any aesthetic sensitivity to light, color and geometric shapes, just give him a Google and let your mind be blown. And if you’re as struck as I was, you can go on to watch this mini-doc showing a glimpse inside the artists’ mind.

Show me your data and I'll tell you who you are 📊🙋
Data Selfie is a browser extension that tracks your Facebook data and tells you who you are based on it. The tool explores our relationship to the online data we leave behind as a result of media consumption and social networks - the information you share consciously and unconsciously. A very insightful and highly amusing way to understand the limitations of algorithms - and perhaps even yourself.

VICE's Suroosh Alvi's classic rags-to-riches story 🌱💭
How I Built This (one of my favorite podcasts) features this classic rags-to-riches story from one of the co-founders of VICE media. Listen to this if you need a dose of no-bullshit motivation and to cut the excuses out of your system. If Suroosh can make it from heroin-addict to media mogul, you too can achieve whatever it is you’re striving for.

The boss ladies that shaped computing 🤖🔮
History is essentially the story we draft from a sequence of events in hindsight. And depending on who writes that story, certain parts get left out. Tech is generally perceived as a male-led discipline, and although the Valley might indeed suffer from a lack of female representation, these stories on female code-breakers show us a different take on that notion and re-frame the history of computing as we know it.

On the dual role of a (business) innovator 💼✨
As a business innovator, you don’t quite fit in predefined boxes of expertise. Equal parts executive, equal parts artist: the art of innovation asks us to strike a balance between the critical method of an executive, and the creative mind of an artist. This mind fluidity poses an ongoing challenge, but an even greater treasure. What do you think?
